The World of Women (WOW) Film Festival is a short film festival that promotes and awards the talents of women directors, producers, writers, editors and cinematographers in the Australian and International film industry. It is a unique festival that offers emerging and established filmmakers the opportunity to screen short works giving a thematic perspective of “seeing the world through the eyes of women”.

Short films up to 55 minutes with key creative input by women.
Woman DIRECTOR OR women in any TWO of these roles: PRODUCER, WRITER, EDITOR or CINEMATOGRAPHER.

Exciting prizes will be awarded by our Sponsors in each Category. See WOW 2007 Winners.

Best Australian WOMAN CINEMATOGRAPHER Award: Australian women cinematographers are invited to enter the WOW Short Film Competition in this category. Award includes Miller Tripod valued at $1,200 in a cinematography package.

WIFT NSW is part of a global organisation, Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI), which provides a foundation for global co-operation as well as a public voice representing and unifying our members worldwide.

 

WOW NATIONAL TOUR 2007 /2008
The WOW Film Festival 2007 programs will tour to major and smaller venues in capital cities and regional centres throughout Australia from November 2007 to May 2008.

The WOW National Tour will offer four curated screen programs including the finalists of the WOW Short Film Competition to our Tour partners. Each venue will select its own programs.

The national tour will go to over 20 destinations Australia-wide.
WOW Tour destinations will be advertised as they are confirmed.
